Unit 4 ~ Discussion & Assignment Prompts

Course Learning Outcomes

The discussion and assignment prompts present in this unit are aligned with the following course learning outcomes:

  • Facilitate authentic conversations with their students and incorporate communication scenarios.
  • Foster cultural awareness in language learning and improve their student's cultural competency.

Module: Listening Comprehension

These activities align with the following learning objectives for the module of listening comprehension:

  • Learners will demonstrate communicative proficiency and comprehension of pronunciation and context in conversation. 
  • Students will interpret a variety of cultural products in the target language from a critical perspective.

Materials & Activities

Learners will be presented with different types of media, presenting different cultural and real-world scenarios, with audio tracks - train station announcement , advertisements, and dialogue between two people, and videos of native French speakers talking about their regional history and/or culture. 

(Hearing impaired learners will have access to a transcript of the audio.)
